Simple Sushi Recipe
GreenSpoon Vegetarian Sushi Rolls for Any Occasion
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Nori sheets (seaweed)
- Fillings: cucumber, carrot, avocado, cream cheese, etc.
- Soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Cook sushi rice as per package instructions. Mix warm rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool.
- Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat.
- Spread a thin layer of rice over nori, leaving 1 inch at the top empty.
- Add thin slices of fillings horizontally across the rice.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the mat.
- Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces with a sharp, wet knife.
- Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
Pro Tip
Keep a small bowl of water nearby to wet your knife between cuts. This prevents the rice from sticking to the blade and gives you clean cuts.
