Optional: 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Place asparagus on the baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat and arrange in a single layer on one side of the baking sheet.
Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place on the other side of the baking sheet, skin-side down.
In a small bowl, mix remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, minced garlic, dill, and lemon zest.
Brush the oil mixture over the salmon fillets. Season with salt and pepper.
Place lemon slices on top of the salmon. If using butter, place small pieces on top of each fillet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes
For a more flavorful dish, you can marinate the salmon in the garlic and herb mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
Other herbs such as parsley, thyme, or rosemary can be substituted for the dill.
This recipe works well with other vegetables such as broccoli, green beans, or zucchini instead of asparagus.
For a complete meal, serve with a side of quinoa, rice, or roasted potatoes.
